TRANSPORTATION 交通 HOW TO GET THERE Cebu is accessible by air, sea, and land transportation: It is an hour away by plane from Manila or 22 hours by boat. There are daily direct flights from Manila. There are also daily sea voyages to and from Manila and the different points in Luzon and Mindanao. It is an ideal jump-off point for other tourist attractions in the Visayas and Mindanao. From Hong Kong The most convenient way is to take Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air or Cathay Pacific Airways from HKG Chek Lap Kok International Airport to Manila (approx. 1 hr 45 min) or to Cebu (approx. 2 hrs). From Manila you may take daily connecting flights to Cebu, serviced by Cebu Pacific Air from early in the morning till the evening, with a flight time of about an hour. The Mactan International Airport is located 3 kms. or a mere 5 minute ride from the city centre. Various options are available for transportation to Cebu City and environs, from pedicabs, multicabs, to vans and taxis. Airport transfers from Cebu Mactan Airport can be arranged by most hotels & resorts. From Manila Carlos A. Gothong Lines, Negros Navigation, and WG&A SuperFerry are the shipping companies providing daily services from Manila to Cebu & vice versa.
From (Tagbilaran) Bohol The quickest way to get to Cebu from neighboring islands is by fast ferry. Approximately 1hour & 50 minutes. Lite Shipping, OceanJet, SuperCat, and Weesam Express, provide daily services to and from Tagbilaran. From Dumaguete Ocean Jet Ferries has daily services to and from Dumaguete via Tagbilaran. The boats (GP and Cokaliong Shipping Lines) also provide night time 5 hour trips to and from Dumaguete. From Ormoc CebuFerries, Lite Shipping, SuperCat, and Weesam Express service the route daily for the approximately two and a half-hour trip between the islands. From Siquijor Ocean Jet Ferries has daily ferry services between the Islands of Cebu and Siquijor for aprox 5 hours & 10 minutes. From Cagayan De Oro Gothong Southern has Monday to Saturday Ferry services to and from Cagayan De Oro City. From Dapitan The Ocean Jet Ferries and Cokaliong Shipping Lines provide daily services for the route to and from Dapitan. Other islands of the Visayas & Mindanao Carlos A. Gothong Lines, Cokaliong Shipping Lines, Gothong Southern Shipping, Lite Shipping Corp., Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Weesam Express, and WG&A SuperFerry service all other routes to and from the neighboring islands of Visayas & Mindanao. From Dumaguete The Ceres Liner bus company offers 5 hour air-conditioned trips from Dumaguete to Cebu crossing the Tañon Strait via a barge from Tampi (Amlan–25 mins. from Dumaguete City) to Bato (Cebu). The bus liner goes direct from Dumaguete to Cebu 7 times a day for approximately PHP250 including the ferry.
