TRANSPORTATION 交通 HOW TO GET THERE Negros Oriental is accessible by land, sea and air transportation: It is one hour and 15 minutes by plane from Manila, and 40 minutes from Cebu to Dumaguete City, capital of Negros Oriental. There are daily direct flights from Manila and Cebu. There are also daily sea voyages to and from different points in the Visayas and Mindanao and twice a week to and from Manila. From Hong Kong The most convenient way is to take Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air or Cathay Pacific Airways from HKG Chek Lap Kok International Airport to Manila (approx. 1 hr 45 min) or to Cebu (approx. 2 hrs). From Manila you may take connecting flights to Dumaguete, serviced by either Philippine Airlines or Cebu Pacific either in the morning or early afternoon, with a flight time of about an hour & 15 minutes. The Sibulan-Dumaguete Airport is located 3 kms. or a mere 5 minute ride from the city centre. Various options are available for transportation to Dumaguete and environs, from pedicabs, multicabs, to vans and taxis. A lot of hotels provide airport transfers. From Manila WG&A Superferry, and Negros Navigation are the maritime companies servicing the route for overnight trips to and from Manila via Tagbilaran City. SuperFerry vessels ply the Philippine waters everyday of the week.
From Bohol & Cebu The Ocean Jet Ferries is the local hydrofoil transportation company which provides the quickest service to Dumaguete, approximately 3.5 hours trip via Tagbilaran, in Bohol. Two other companies, Supper Ferry and Cokaliong Shipping Lines) runs night 5 to 6 hour trips to and from Cebu City & Dumaguete. From Siquijor Weesam Express, Ocean Jet Ferries, and Delta Fast Ferry service the route daily for the 45 minutes trip between the islands. From Dapitan Cokaliong Shipping Lines and Ocean Jet Ferries provide daily ferry services between the Islands of Dapitan in Mindanao and Dumaguete for the aprox. 1 hour and 40 minutes trip. From Bacolod The Ceres Liner cris-cross Negros Oriental daily with trips to Dumaguete, with 30 minute intervals per trip. The first trip is at 3:10 AM and the last trip at 7:00 PM. From Cebu The Ceres Liner offers 5 hour air-conditioned trips from Cebu to Dumaguete crossing the Tañon Strait via a barge from Bato (Cebu) to Tampi (Amlan–25 mins. from Dumaguete City).
